On September 21 to 22, sponsored by Jilin University and co-organized by the School of Management of Jilin University,the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Institute at Jilin University and the Entrepreneurship and SME Management Committee of the Chiense Research Council of Modern Management, the 2019 Jilin University International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship opened in Jilin University. Professor Cai Li, Executive Vice Secretary of Jilin University and Head of theInnovation and Entrepreneurship Research Institute at Jilin University, hosted the opening ceremony and delivered keynote speeches. Professor Li Beiwei, Dean of the School of Management, made a speech on behalf of the School. Leaders from the Division of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the Office of Social Science and Humanity also attended the ceremony.

This has been the 7th successful conference since last ones in 2005, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Themed with “Lead the World to Face Future Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, the conference was divided into keynote speeches and a youth forum. 22 well-known experts from nearly 20 universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad were invited to deliver keynote speeches. Their speeches covered entrepreneurship theory and practice in the new era, entrepreneurship eco-system, new entrepreneurial models, innovation and entrepreneurship in the context of digital economy, sustained entrepreneurship by family businesses, technological innovation in China, innovation in science and technology and other important practices and theories. The speeches attracted an audience.of nearly 200.

Song Chengyu, Associate Professor of the Foreign Economics & Management magazine, Wang Yali, Editor of the entrepreneurship section of the magazine and 25 young scholars from 20 universities including Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Southeast University, Dalian University of Technology were invited to the Youth Forum; two parallel forums in Chinese and English respectively were held at the same time.

The conference has enjoyed great support from the Association of Emerging Markets, the Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship branch of the China Association for Technology and Economics,Journal on Industrial Integration and Management: Innovation & Entrepreneurship(JIIM:I&E,Administrative Science Quarterly and theForeign Economics & Management magazine.

As an international academic conference, the conference aims to provide a communication platform for scholars in innovation and entrepreneurship to enhance research capabilities in practice and theory. The conference has not only promoted academic communication and academic competence of scholars, but also contributed ideas for the sound development of innovation and entrepreneurship in China.
