Undergraduate Program of Management Science and Engineering

The general program of Management Science and Engineering includes its objectives, liberal courses, and basic courses. The compulsory and optional courses are detailed in the specific programs of different majors, which include objectives, requirements, coredisciplines, major courses and discipline features.

Ⅰ、Program Features

We implement the model of “enhancing liberal education, broadening the professional scope and cultivating competence”, highlighting the combination of natural science and social science.Our aim is to cultivate professional talents who have basicknowledge of management science and necessary mathematical and computerskills, and are able to use advanced management thoughts and methods to analyze the management problems onoperation, organization, and technology of different domains or different organizations,and tomake decisionsand implementsolutions.

Ⅱ、Directions

After entering school, students shall be cultivated to have a solid foundation and wide vision of the management science and engineering, and shall enter the professional cultivation stage after the fourth semester. The Management Science and Engineering have the following majors:

Undergraduate Program of Information Management and Information System

Ⅰ、Objectives

The major is aimed at cultivating students who meet the following requirements:boast strong innovative spirits, practical capability, international vision and communication skills; well master mathematical basics, economics and management theories, modern information management theories and methods,knowledge ofcomputer science and technology andits application, the analysis of management decision data, information system development methods and technologies, data analysis and tools, Internet technology and e-commerce applications;are able to engage in data analysis and business optimization, information system development and construction, information resource planning and management, information consulting and services, and Internet commerce in national governmental bodies, public institutions, industrial and commercial enterprises, financial institutions; and become interdisciplinary senior management talents in both management science and engineering.

Ⅱ、Requirements

The major requires students to mainly study the basic theories and knowledge of mathematics, computer science, economics, statistics, operations research, production and operations management, marketing, accounting, finance, international finance and trade, and to have the ability to make quantitative analysis, make decisions, manage communication and organizational implementation, use computer, and fluently use English.

Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1.Master the basic theories and analytical methods of management and economics, master the computer basic knowledge andits application, and have a strong ability to analyze and solve practical problems.

2.Master the professional knowledge and skills of information management and information systems, and have strong information system analysis, design, development and implementation capabilities.

3.Master the professional knowledge and skills of information resource management, have the ability to plan, manage and operate information resources for governmental bodies, enterprises and public institutions, be able to analyze and solve practical problems and use computer.

4.Master the theory and skills of data science, have strong data acquisition, data processing and information analysis capabilities in the big data context, have strong data management capabilities.

5.Master the theory and methods of Internet information user services, have the ability of information consulting and service and Internet business operations.

Features: The major is characterized by multidisciplines of management, economics and computer science and technology. It emphasizes the combination of modern management theory, quantitative analysis methods and information system technology, with a focus on technology-based management and management-oriented technology. It has the cross-disciplinary advantages of arts, science and engineering. It is different from other management majors because its students have wide-ranging interdisciplinary expertise and skills, and have a solid theoretical foundation for soft sciences such as management and economics, as well as solid technical application skills in engineering such as computer science and technology. Students are cultivated to have strong capabilities in product design, requirement analysis, system development, system implementation, information resource management, data processing and information analysis, information system development and operational management, Internet business operation management, information consulting and services. In the future, students are able to engage in technical or managerial work such as organization and business optimization, big data analysis, information systems and information resource management, and operation and maintenance services in enterprises, governmental bodies and public institutions.

1.Have a good ideological and moral quality, conform to the college's moral education and sports requirements.

3.Obtain 8 credits for the extracurricular training program.

Undergraduate Program of Engineering Management

Ⅰ、Objectives

The major is aimed to cultivate interdisciplinary senior engineering management talents who meet the needs of socialist modernization construction and future social and technological development, have comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical body and aesthetics, as well as a healthy personality,bear conscience and social responsibility, have an innovative spirit, practical ability and international vision,are basically trained to be an engineer, have the knowledge base of technology, management science and economics, master modern management science, and possess strong professional and comprehensive practical ability.

After graduation, students can continue their study in engineering project management, management science and engineering, or engage in project management,construction management, project cost, project decision-making and consulting infields ofengineering construction, real estate development projects, governmental industry management, international economic and technological cooperation, engineering consulting and evaluation. After five years of practice in engineering management, graduates of the major will be able to master the management knowledge of the whole process, have good social adaptability and high comprehensive professional quality, and will be qualified for engineering management business.

Ⅱ、Requirements

Students of the major shall study professional theoretical knowledge of economics, management, engineering economics, engineering structure, construction technology and organization, engineering cost and engineering project management, and have the basic ability to engage in engineering project management through theory learning and practicing with their economic, management and project management theories and methods.

Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1. Master the knowledge of liberal education, disciplinary basics, professional basics and professional knowledge, have an international vision, understand the development frontier of the engineering management discipline, and be able to use knowledge and skills to explain professional phenomena in engineering management;

2. Be able to apply the basic principles and methods of engineering management to judge, analyze and study professional problems, propose corresponding countermeasures and suggestions, and produce a solution;

3. Master the qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques of engineering projects, understand new trends in social, economic and technological development, and master legal knowledge related to project management;

4. Be able to communicate with industrial peers and the public on the phenomena and issues in the professional field in written and verbal manners;

Undergraduate Program of Logistics Management

Ⅰ、Objectives

The major is aimed to cultivate interdisciplinary applied talents whoboast socialist core values, have a high sense of social responsibility and mission, a good scientific and cultural literacy and an international vision, master the basic theories of management and economics, and the analysis, design, operationand management knowledge, methods and techniques of modern logistics and supply chain systems, be familiar with the logistics operations in corporate production and management activities, meet the needs of internationalization and informationization, have a strong innovation spirit, entrepreneurial awareness and the ability to innovate and start up business, andare able to engage in supply chain design and management, logistics system optimization and operational management in enterprises, research institutes and governmental bodies.

Ⅱ、Requirements

Students of the major shall study the basic theories and knowledge of management science and engineering, economics, business administration, logistics management, as well as modern logistics and supply chain management, accept the basic training of supply chain design and management and logistics system optimization and operations, and master the knowledge and skills in logistics and supply chain management, procurement management, production logistics management, sales management, logistics system design and optimization.

Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1. Have the basic knowledge of humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, foreign languages and computers;

2. Master the basic theories and knowledge of management, economics, logistics management and engineering disciplines;

3. Have basic skills in supply chain design, logistics system design, logistics business operation and logistics management, and have certain practical ability to manage logistics;

4. Have a broad international vision, understand the theoretical and practical development status and trends of domestic and international supply chain and logistics, be familiar with the basic operation modes of domestic and foreign manufacturing companies, circulation and logistics enterprises, and understand the standards, practices, laws and policies involved in the technology, economy and management of domestic and international supply chain and logistics operations.

Ⅳ、Features and directions

Logistics management is a typical interdisciplinary major. Students are cultivated to have a knowledge base of management, economics, management science and engineering. Students shall have a wide-ranging interdisciplinary field of expertise and skills. They master the basic theories, methods and techniques of modern logistics and supply chain system analysis, design, operation and management, and are familiar with the logistics operations in the production and operational activities of enterprises. They shall work in the management departments of manufacturing, distribution, sales and other types of enterprises, public institutions, governmental bodies and other social and economic units, like departments of logistics and supply chain management, procurement management, production logistics management, sales management and comprehensive strategies, and engage in specific management, planning and design, consulting and planning, and operation management of specific logistics business.
